It was my prayer that we would find someone to take care of Chip as well as we have, or better.  It was Divine intervention that this family was brought to our attention and they have already shown they will take excellent care of him.  Leslie has waited a long time for her canine companion.  Chip already has his place in the home.  He’s picked his favorite chair for naps, has multiple blankets to get buried in by Leslie’s bed and has constant attention.  Leslie’s mom baked us home made bread hot from the oven when we arrived to visit.  It just doesn’t get any better than this!

Chip came to our family from a rescue in San Antonio.  It was him and his brother who we had named Dale.  Recently Dale had taken on a javelina and didn’t make it.  Chip suffered a few lacerations but has healed nicely.  Dachsund rescue is an ongoing task and you can check out the availability of more dachsunds here .

We are lucky that Leslie and her family want to keep in contact with us so we can see how Chip is doing and they can follow our adventure to Alaska.   Thank you Leslie!
